16 – Grand Finale (Vermillion)

The Inquisitor is dead, but he wasn’t the last boss. The clone was actually still waiting for me, but you can only see it if you select the black pillar in the white room and then always head for the black and white hexagon portals. Unfortunately, I couldn’t see the portal in the last level – maybe a bug or I was blind. It’s a shame really, I think there would have been something nice there. But the game had some problems overall this time. In one attempt in the last round against Captain Yulia, the mage simply disappeared and left his dead captain behind. Unfortunately, this was not counted as a win, so I could only choose suicide.

But it’s done… I have to say, this was the most difficult run for me so far. I didn’t think it would be so much harder with a shield than with a thick two-handed weapon, maybe I just wasn’t relaxed enough with the shield. You’re very dependent on what your opponent does. You think you have a good window to strike, but unfortunately you don’t – one delayed blow from your opponent and you’re hit. The opponent can only be interrupted very rarely; he casters and strikes as if I was just there for a manicure.

At the moment, however, there are still three weapons I want to try out: a bow, dual wield and a nice two-handed polearm. At the moment I find Dual Wield particularly appealing, along with Vampirism and the debuff perk where you gain life when the enemy takes frost or heat damage. Add to that a few gems that increase the likelihood of such effects… That wouldn’t be bad.
