Dark Souls III » Darkwraith Morgrim
Morgrim has always been an outsider among the Darkwraiths. While his brothers and sisters embraced chaos and darkness, Morgrim always had a hint of doubt in his heart. Born and raised in the shadow of the Abyss, he learned the ways of darkness and eternal war, but deep inside him burned a small spark of light – a desire to create something other than endless destruction.
Unlike the other Darkwraiths, who had embraced the darkness, Morgrim dreamt of finding the balance between light and shadow. He didn’t want to destroy the darkness, but to illuminate it to understand the deeper meaning behind it. However, his thoughts were not always shared by his own kind. Often he was seen as weak or even treacherous. The Abyss was no place for understanding or compassion, and Morgrim’s search for enlightenment made him a target for suspicion and rejection.
Yet despite the rejection, Morgrim did not give up on his dream. He knew that light, however dim, could always find a way into the darkest places. In his search for answers, he roamed abandoned ruins and ancient battlefields, always hoping to find something that would help him illuminate the dark world around him – even if only for a moment.
Now he stands at a crossroads, torn between the duties of a Darkwraith and his desire to bring light into the darkness, always hoping that he can unite the two irreconcilable worlds within himself.
But his doubts were not undetected and before the light from his heart found more widespread he found himself suddenly in a cool, muddy grave. Is it really light that he carries in his heart or perhaps blazes there a blood-red flame that promises a much greater disaster than just the darkness.
