Dark Souls III » Druid Hazel

Name: Hazel the Druid
Race: Human
Age: Early 20s
Origin: The hidden forests of Eldergrove
Appearance: Hazel has short, wild, dark red hair and emerald green eyes that reflect a hint of curiosity and innocence. On her head she wears a simple diadem of plaited roots, from which small, natural ‘horns’ made of branches protrude – a symbol of her bond with nature. She dresses in earth tones, her clothing simple but adorned with symbols of nature.
Companions: Ivy, an unusually large and clever rat that Hazel rescued and raised in the wild. Ivy is not only a friend, but also a secret weapon and scout, often discovering paths or sensing danger early on.

Hazel comes from a small, remote village on the edge of Eldergrove, a forest that many believed to be cursed and that most avoided. But for Hazel, this forest was not scary – on the contrary, it was her home. She grew up as the daughter of a simple family of healers who understood the language of nature and had passed down the knowledge of plants and herbs for generations. Even as a child, Hazel felt a deep connection to nature that went beyond her family’s understanding. It was as if the trees, the water and the wind could talk to her.
One stormy evening when she was just a child, Hazel found Ivy, a wounded little rat that had been swept out of her burrow by a raging storm. Hazel nursed the little animal back to health, and since then the two have been inseparable. Ivy became her companion, her best friend and a loyal companion on all her adventures in the wild.
But the idyll of her home was disturbed when people from distant lands came and began to clear the Eldergrove and exploit its resources. The animals fled, and nature screamed in its pain. Hazel sensed the anger and sorrow of the trees and animals. One night, while meditating in an ancient grove, the spirit of the forest appeared to her in the form of a mighty oak and offered her the gifts of nature magic. Hazel accepted this responsibility with a pure heart and swore to protect Eldergrove.
But the battle was hopeless. Hazel had to watch as her home was slowly destroyed, until finally all she had left was her memory and her ability to summon the power of nature. She set out to travel the world, to gain new knowledge about the magic of nature and to find like-minded people who shared her love and respect for the Earth. Deep in her heart, she harbours the dream of one day rebuilding Eldergrove and bringing all living things back there.
