The gameplay reminds me very much of the first part and I first have to get back into it after the second part – but thank goodness they have gone back to the old quality. The enemies are now much more sophisticated and devious, but more predictably placed. It’s Dark Souls again the way I love it.
Even though I get a real kick in the teeth at the beginning. I wonder if it was a good idea to start directly with the assassin. I keep catching myself playing as a knight rather than an assassin. The shield always gave me a lot of security as a knight. Now as an assassin… well, I have to get used to rolling away and my worst enemy is with me again – the camera 🙂
The nice thing about Dark Souls 1 was that I didn’t care about progressing quickly, I often revisited enemies I found difficult over and over again until I had them under control, and that’s exactly what I like! The first knight after the dragon really did it for me, at the beginning I was looking for many ways and means to get him out of the way, because I thought… uff a running fortress.
But once you have your fighting moves out and how to go against them, it’s not sooo hard anymore 🙂 Only if he brings friends with him.
Have fun dying happily. Actually it’s not dying through, it’s just dying 😀
