06 – Lower Calrath

Now that my pyromancer has burnt his way into Adyr’s heart, I’ll turn my attention to one of my other chars. Tink immediately appeals to me because he’s also much different to play than a Pyromancer. However, I underestimated the difficulty of a Grand Hammer. I thought I could just shave the enemies away with my practice, but unfortunately (or fortunately?) that’s not the case.
The Grand Hammer is impressively big and does good damage, but it also has disadvantages. For example, it’s very slow and it’s much more difficult to parry with it, in fact it doesn’t work at all. And that’s how I pull Glöckchen through Calrath, heavy as a truck and slow as well. I have to get used to Tink again. I know Calrath, but now that my ranged combat skills are very limited, ranged fighters are always a bit of a problem for me. Not every archer or wizard can be forced into close combat.
The bosses themselves are again quite easy to deal with, but the constant adds from all directions, just when you’re looking forward to a duel, spoil the mood. It makes you want to go straight back to Dark Souls or Elden Ring.
I also have the impression that many things have not been thought through to the end. For example, I can use things in the inventory and it kicks me out of the game immediately afterwards. Another annoying peculiarity is that new items are often added to my quickbar and I often use up a rare item on the way just because I wanted to chew an HP stone.
Calrath is done, at least the lower section, but it wasn’t a brilliant performance on my part. I don’t know if I like the great hammer that much, based on the skill of Glöckchen (Str/Agi = Quality) you could also switch to a nice big halberd. Or you could just get two normal hammers and work with status effects. At the moment I’m a bit dissatisfied, Glöckchen is only limited fun, you can hardly work with the opponents, it’s more dodge and light strike, dodge.
