009 – Next Stop, Mohgwyn Palace

It’s easy to miss the area, which almost happened to me the first time I played through. I discovered Mohgwyn Palace quite late by chance – while exploring the icy expanse of the snowfield. I like Mohgwyn Palace, the red of the surroundings is a change from the rest of the autumnal or wintry world of the landscape. Especially when you approach the palace, the chorus is really catchy.

What I normally like to do here, I test war ashes, weapons and talismans. You have a lot of enemies right at the first spawn point.
Then in the palace I was impressed by Mohgwyn, he was really hairy today. Normally he topples over quite quickly. You can get to him quickly with enough damage. If you give him too much freedom, he transfers life points from the player to himself.

But I thought it was good that he was more difficult, you had to experiment a bit with the affinities and usually you find a suitable war ashes.
The difficulty here was actually the whips, they don’t have a good war ash, hardly break poise and you can’t block – oh well, the damage is also in the medium range. But anyway, I’m going through with it.
I could have put a war ash for lightning in here and then put it in with casting, but then the whips kind of don’t matter either. Because the ash can be built into pretty much any weapon.
