01 – From Resuscitation to Pilgrim’s Perch

And another class, I couldn’t resist. The partisan with a flail sounded kind of interesting. Plus a crossbow and a shield, I wanted to know how he plays.
I have to say, it’s the most difficult class in the game so far. As easy as the Dark Crusader is to play, the Partisan is just as difficult.
I was kind of looking forward to the crossbow, but the damage is so low you can really neglect it in boss fights. You also spend too long reloading and cocking the crossbow. It’s cumbersome and I find it difficult to use it properly in hectic situations. The flail is quite nice, it has a high strike frequency, but the damage and range are quite manageable. The shield… hmm… Shields in general in this Lords of the Fallen are quite… let’s say, I don’t understand the point.
When you block you get the damage reserved in grey and if you don’t hit back or get real damage, the damage is there. Somehow parrying seems to be the key here. In any case, boss fights were much easier for me.
In terms of armour, it’s also rather lightly clad, so overall it’s more of a class for more experienced players, i.e. not so much me 🙂 But I love the challenge.
Let’s get down to playing, I actually found a place with Heilay that I had overlooked with the Hallowed Knight…
The Skyrest Bridge still has a lot to offer and a great umbra room to explore. But before you can go there, you first have to get the Skyrest Bridge key. It’s really well hidden, or rather hidden behind a little puzzle. Well, puzzle, actually I didn’t realise until then that I can not only see through the lamp, but also interact with the Umbra world.
My partisan Heilay is really nothing to relax about, you have to be careful with her. But she’s still fun. The boss before Pilgrim’s Perch, Scourged Sister Delyth, was another tough one. However, Heilay’s damage is really very limited. How often I had to hit her with the flail… hmpf.
