13 – Fief the Chill Curse

I like winter, so I actually find the area quite pleasant. What I have noticed, however, is that the little Umbral Walkers have become a lot more annoying. Since the last patch there are somehow more of them and they appear at shorter intervals. Very annoying, especially when you want to have a look around and explore the area.
What I like about the icy north is the snow, I love snow and icy slopes. As far as I’m concerned, there could be more of them. However, my increased mana consumption is now taking its toll, precisely because the many different spells invite you to play and experiment. I had the first boss completely killed by the running fire zombie, it was a sense of achievement for which it burned (okay, it was flat).
But what I particularly noticed here in the Fief of the Chill Curse is that it likes to crash. Especially when I can’t use it, for example during the boss fight. Overall, the game is very crashy, I tried it for a while without the cheat protection, but it still crashed. The Surge 2 shared a similar fate.
In Fief of the Chill Curse, people who are skilled in Umbral magic will be spoilt a bit, there are some nice new spells to discover here.
In the main fight, the Crow, I was enormously surprised at how quickly the Pyromancer knocked the Frost Mage out of her shoes. Magma Surge and then Seismic Slam immediately knocked the lady into the next phase.
Hmm… I think Coal is already as far as my main character, I’m thinking about looking directly into the next area. He’s fun, even if he’s a bit too easy to play now. Well, I’ve got my melee fighters again for the challenges. First I moaned about how hard it is to play, now I moan that it’s too easy. It’s not easy with the players. But I’m not really complaining, so I can take a more relaxed look at everything.
