With these role-playing characters, I really made the final battle difficult for myself. It was really hard to become Elden Queen with Kalda. The many easy boss fights didn’t prepare her for what was to come. Especially the Elden beast was a big challenge. But, it’s great when you make it after many tries. The endorphins explode and you look at the screen in disbelief.
This fight could have been made a bit easier, stronger armour, more suitable weapons (perhaps a two-handed sword?), then there might have been spells in the other groups (Glimstone, Gravity, Fire) that would have done more damage… but it had to be Kalda, in the exact outfit, with the weapons and the frost spells. Otherwise it wouldn’t be Kalda the Frozen.
What remains to be said… Kalda has made it, she is the new order in The Lands Between behind the fog. I have to say, it wasn’t easy with her, I had imagined life as a frost mage to be significantly calmer, but actually it was even more exhausting, because you already die with small mistakes and unforeseen situations are a real challenge. But you are so pleased when you have made it. We died together through the land in between and are now Elden Queen.
The thing I like about these RPG characters is that you have to focus on problem solving with a smaller toolbox. I’m sure there are some people who change clothes for each boss, take different weapons and maybe re-skill. I don’t like that, because I have a certain connection with my characters, I would lose something. Even if it’s hard, I think it’s good if you persevere and work on yourself rather than on your character.
For Kalda, too, I had a picture in my head of what a frost mage could be like, what kind of background, what she should look like, what spells and weapons would suit her character, play style and magecraft.
I’m really looking forward to the next character when they say… the fifth journey begins.
