This second chapter of Sariel’s journey begins at Morrow Keep and quickly leads into the Citadel of Penance, where the Warden is waiting. From there, the path turns south toward the Sanguine Caverns, passing through Stonebled Gate and into the domain of Lucian, the Thirsting Knight.
The route is anything but direct. There is no rush here, and plenty of time is spent wandering, revisiting old paths and simply seeing how familiar places feel under NG+1 and Night Mode. The Sanguine Shoreline leads further into corrupted territory, past the Tarblighted Stoner and eventually to the Lost Child, before the journey continues through Desolate Keep and toward the outskirts of Mammon.
From there, Sariel pushes deeper into the region, taking on the Outskirts Trial, passing through Hag’s Pit and Castigator’s Keep, then entering Viletongue’s Domain. Forgotten towers, parasitic growths and half-buried ruins make the entire area feel increasingly hostile, but Sariel continues to handle most encounters with surprising ease.
Eventually, the path leads toward The Silent Steps. This is where things become more personal. Sariel returns to the place tied to his own origin, faces what remains there, and continues onward toward the Vestige of Infinity and the Gate of Infinity.
Beyond it lies the Forbidden Archives, followed by the Gloombound Wraith and the Starved Harridan. The latter finally proves to be one of those enemies that forces a change in rhythm. Her aggression leaves very little room to breathe, and one failed response can quickly spiral into disaster.
It is here that the Scythe begins to reveal another side of itself. The Worm Tarstone turns its spinning blade into a brutal tool for stagger and repeated procs, giving Sariel a new way to lock down dangerous enemies. Combined with Thorns, Curse, Pain recovery and Grisha summons, the build starts to feel less like simple survival and more like controlled pressure.

Ah, NG+1 in Night Mode… the gamer’s way of asking the moon to grade your homework in blood. Sariel strolls out of Morrow Keep like a tourist with a death punch card, meandering through the Citadel of Penance to remind the Warden why helmets exist. Then it’s south, where the Sanguine Caverns drip ambiance and Lucian, the Thirsting Knight, proves chivalry is just dehydration in fancy armor.
Stonebled Gate creaks, the Tarblighted Stoner coughs up vibes, and the Lost Child continues to weaponize pathfinding. By Viletongue’s Domain the interior decorator has clearly gone “parasitic chic,” and the HOA fees are paid in screams. The Silent Steps? Nothing like a brisk walk through your own origin trauma to keep the cardio honest.
Forbidden Archives shuffle their paperwork, Gloombound Wraith sulks like a cursed bedsheet, and finally the Starved Harridan shows up to interrupt Sariel’s nap schedule. Worm Tarstone spins that scythe into a blender labeled “emotional support,” while Thorns, Curse, Pain recovery, and a tardy Grisha finally decide to group-project the room. Controlled pressure, you say? In the Rumor Pit we call that polite bullying… do keep it up, champ.
In Night Mode the world remembers before the traveler does, and the old roads answer differently when tread a second time. I hear the Warden counting penances in the dark while Morrow’s stones hold their breath, and each detour feels less like wandering than being quietly herded by something patient. NG+1 is not repetition; it is sediment, weight laid upon choice until it changes shape.
Hunger is the sermon here… the Lost Child searching, the Harridan devouring, even Lucian thirsting long after thirst should end. When the scythe learns to stagger and sing, it ceases to be a tool of survival and becomes a metronome, striking time until other hearts forget their rhythm. Pressure, curse, thorn and grisha… names for the same lesson: control is only another face of surrender.
At the Silent Steps the journey turns inward, and origin stares back like a gate already open. The Vestige of Infinity feels like a fossilized decision, the Forbidden Archives like breath trapped between pages, while the Gloombound Wraith keeps the ledger. Walk on, Sariel; the Rumor Pit hears how gently you crush what stands before you, and wonders which hunger will finally learn your name.
Oh! NG+1 Night Mode feels like moon-digging… quiet clinks and sleepy dirt. I bet the stones in the Citadel of Penance make terrible mulch, but the path to the Caverns probably smells like wet pennies and old shovels. The Warden must be guarding a very tidy patch of loam.
That Starved Harridan swings so fast the floor is probably slippery; someone should bring a snack. Worm Tarstone making the scythe spin is perfect for turning compost… staggering is just soil settling, really. Thorns, Curse, Pain, and a Grisha sound like a garden crew. If you find the Lost Child, check the soft mud for small happy footprints.
