After three long years of silence, Cleanrot Knight Heilay awakens once more beneath Ranni’s tower. The memories of her former journey have faded with time, leaving her uncertain of her purpose, her path, and even the reasoning behind the choices she once made. Before venturing further into the Lands Between, she decides to rebuild both herself and her arsenal.
Her first destination is the Fringefolk Hero’s Grave, where she hopes to reclaim the Erdtree’s Favor. The journey proves more complicated than expected. Missing Stonesword Keys, forgotten paths, hidden ledges, Grafted Scions lurking above, and a sacrificial leap into darkness all stand between her and the talisman. Eventually, she succeeds, securing the relic after discovering a concealed section of the dungeon and narrowly escaping its many traps.
Realizing that her old build no longer reflects the warrior she wishes to become, Heilay travels to Raya Lucaria and undergoes rebirth. Embracing a stronger Faith and Dexterity focus, she seeks to enhance both her twin Cleanrot Spears and the blessings available to her.
From there, the road leads through Altus Plateau and into Mt. Gelmir. Along the way she defeats the Night’s Cavalry, acquires the Ash of War: Sacred Order, and immediately concludes that the horse was considerably more useful than the reward itself.
The search for power continues. Heilay secures the Erdtree’s Favor, discovers Golden Vow, explores Seethewater Cave, battles Basilisks, survives poison swamps, defeats two Kindred of Rot, and acquires a collection of rewards she has little immediate use for. She crosses paths with Patches, who once again demonstrates his remarkable talent for poor life advice by kicking her into a ravine.
The resulting detour proves unexpectedly productive. Hidden villages, Wormfaces, Scarabs, and forgotten tunnels provide the Somber Stones necessary to strengthen both Cleanrot Spears to +6. A visit to Altus Tunnel yields the Miner’s Bell Bearing, while a dangerous raid through a Wormface-infested valley secures additional upgrade materials.
With her weapons restored, Heilay turns her attention toward the lower reaches of Mt. Gelmir. Fort Laiedd falls before her advance, although its greatest treasure, a massive crimson warhammer, is promptly added to the growing collection of items she has no intention of using.
Her preparations are soon tested against a Magma Wyrm. The battle is brutal. The terrain is hostile, the camera uncooperative, and the creature shows little interest in fighting fairly. Yet when the flames finally fade, the Wyrm lies dead. The victory serves as proof that her efforts have not been in vain.
Beyond the lava fields she discovers a hidden Demi-Human village. There she battles assassins, sorcerers, and the Demi-Human Queen herself, eventually claiming a Memory Stone and the legendary sorcery Comet Azur. Only afterward does she learn that the entire encounter was completely optional.
A single leap from the cliffs beyond the village returns her to the very ravine where Patches had abandoned her earlier, revealing just how interconnected Mt. Gelmir truly is.
As the day draws to a close, Heilay remembers another unfinished task. Seeking materials to strengthen her trusted companion Finlay, she ventures into the Tombsward Catacombs on the Weeping Peninsula. The Cemetery Shade falls with little resistance, Grave and Ghost Gloveworts are gathered, and Lhutel the Headless is politely ignored in favor of the companion she already trusts.
Though the elusive Ghost Glovewort she truly seeks remains undiscovered, Heilay’s return to the Lands Between has been a success. Her weapons are stronger, her purpose clearer, and her journey far from over.

Ah, Heilay woke up and immediately started collecting shiny bits good plan! Keys, bells, stones… that’s just smart shoveling with spears. The Fringefolk pit sounded like a perfect hole, except for the carts and skittery scions. Did the floor in that lava cave feel slippery? I always think hot ground digs faster. Patches pushing folks is just rude geology, but ravines are very educational. Is Golden Vow a digging permit? Absolutely. Comet Azur tastes like fancy dirt. The Magma Wyrm? Big lizard, tiny manners. Bring snacks and a second shovel.
Three years snoozing under Ranni’s tower and Heilay wakes up like a hungover saint, immediately sprinting to Fringefolk HOA’s Grave to pay the Stonesword Key tax she forgot, then solving every puzzle with gravity and optimism. Rebirth at Raya Lucaria: Faith, Dex, and a side of “I swear this time it’s the build.” Night’s Cavalry gets folded and she correctly concludes the horse was the loot. Patches resumes his career as a life coach who specializes in shoving, and shockingly the ravine detour is a supply chain for +6 spears. Fort Laiedd hands her a colossal hammer destined for decorative storage, while the Magma Wyrm and the camera attempt a hostile merger. Optional Demi-Human safari scores Comet Azur, promptly shelved. Lastly, she ghosts Lhutel for Finlay and hunts the shyest Glovewort in existence. An admirable return: fewer answers, stronger pokesticks, and maximum scenic suffering.
I hear the scrape of a knight reborn against the coffin-lid of memory. Three years is a long molt; when the old skin peels away, even purpose forgets its own name. How curious, then, that what returns first is not certainty but hunger the reaching for favors of trees, the rinse of baptism at a scholar’s cradle, the vow hammered in gold against a heart that knows rot by its true taste. Patches’ boot is the world’s blunt liturgy: betrayal that maps new corridors. Optional queens die just the same as necessary ones; power blooms whether or not it is required, and calls itself wisdom after. A camera becomes a blind god over a river of fire, yet will endures, and the wyrm gives up its heat. The path folds back to its ravine, as if the land prefers circles to lines. She keeps Finlay, refuses Lhutel loyalty as an edge keener than any spear. Still searching for the ghost-flower that will not show, she learns the oldest lesson: sometimes the missing thing is what sharpens the hand that seeks it.
