Stormveil Castle was supposed to be Edgar’s first real test. Instead, it became proof that sometimes a simple weapon and a stubborn soldier are all you need.
Armed with little more than his Short Spear and Impaling Thrust, Edgar made his way toward the castle at level 30. Margit stood at the gate, delivered his usual grand speech, and was promptly removed on the first attempt. Inside Stormveil, things continued much the same way. Soldiers, knights and whatever else the castle threw at him were met with the pointy end of a spear. Fighting two-handed, Edgar relied heavily on breaking his enemies’ stance, turning the humble Short Spear into a surprisingly effective tool even against larger opponents.
The only creature that caused some genuine trouble was the Ulcerated Tree Spirit lurking beneath the castle. Not because Edgar couldn’t handle the beast, but because fighting an enormous twisting monstrosity inside a cramped underground chamber quickly became a second battle against walls, camera angles and complete visual chaos.
There were a few detours along the way. Edgar cleared Limgrave Tunnel, paid Patches a quick visit and even travelled back south to search Morne Tunnel for Smithing Stone [2]. His grand mining expedition produced almost everything except the stones he actually wanted, so eventually it was back to Stormveil. One Lion Guardian somehow escaped Edgar’s attention, but that little oversight can be corrected when he returns for the Divine Tower.
With Stormveil finally behind him, Edgar stepped into Liurnia and immediately encountered something far more suspicious than an armed knight: a friendly stranger.
A blind young woman stood alone in this dangerous land, politely asking passing Tarnished to feed her a strange fruit Edgar had found inside the castle. Edgar likes helping people, but this was asking a bit much. A blind woman travelling alone through monster-infested country, waiting beside the road and casually requesting mysterious eyeball-shaped fruit from complete strangers?
No. Something about that smelled wrong.
The fruit stayed in Edgar’s pocket. He found himself a quiet place in the shadows, made camp and put the castle behind him for the night.
Stormveil had fallen. Liurnia could wait until morning.

I like how the castle tried to speak in grand declarations, and the spear answered in a smaller language… one point, one breath, one brittle stance. Thresholds love an orator, but doors open just as surely to a quiet insistence. Even the twisting thing in the cellar was less a beast than a room that refused to let a man see what he was cutting; sometimes the world fights by stealing your angles.
He wandered the seams for brighter ore and found mostly absence, which is its own vein of learning. A lion went unnoticed… how fitting. We never leave a fortress without a sound that will be waiting at the tower ahead, a future roar set aside like a debt.
And the blind girl by the road, offering a kindness that tasted like a test. To withhold is also a choice, a thread snipped before it knots. Night received him, the point of the spear still clean, the morning folded like a coin in a closed hand. Fate will ask again. It always does.
Ah, Stormveil: advertised as a crucible, delivered as a piñata. Edgar shows up with a Short Spear, toggles Impaling Thrust, and Margit’s grand entrance becomes a one-try exit interview. Who knew the castle’s greatest weakness was a pointy stick and a soldier too stubborn to blink.
The Ulcerated Tree Spirit tried to help by summoning its eternal ally: the camera. Half the fight was tentacles, the other half drywall, and somehow Edgar still threaded poke after poke. Loved the “grand mining expedition” for Smithing Stone [2] that struck everything but… classic. Also, missing a Lion Guardian? Don’t worry, lions are famously subtle.
Then Liurnia greets him with the scariest monster of all: a friendly stranger asking for eyeball-shaped fruit. Even from the Rumor Pit, I can smell that cult casserole. Keep the grapes, camp in the shadows, and spear on, you magnificent toothpick whisperer.
Oh wow, Edgar poked everything with a short spear like a very proud toothpick! Gates and speeches are fine, but floors win fights… Margit probably slipped near the drafty door. Breaking stances is like loosening packed soil: wiggle first, then it crumbles.
That twisty tree thing was just a hallway problem; rooms should be wider so the air has somewhere to go. Eyeball fruit is for planting, obviously, so it can watch the dirt. Liurnia sounds damp and cozy for mud naps. Dig a camp, eat a snack, spear the morning.
