Asslik still has trouble finding his true shape. I do not want him to become just another blood-soaked assassin, so I began looking for another path. Frost seemed fitting after Raya Lucaria, and magic crossed my mind as well, though he does not yet have the Intelligence to truly walk that road. Even Frost would probably benefit from more of it later, but for now it still works well enough with Dexterity. When Frostbite finally takes hold, it opens a small but useful toolbox. A second dagger touched by fire can reset the frost, allowing the cold to build again, or the frost can be left to linger, making the enemy more vulnerable while Asslik keeps cutting from close range. On parchment, it sounds like a clever killer’s method: cold steel, sudden flame, and another wound before the enemy understands what has happened.
In practice, something is still missing. I gathered new tools for him: the Redmane Ash of War, Hoarfrost Stomp, the glowing whetblade, and whatever else seemed useful along the way. Even the Night’s Cavalry near the Dragon Communion Church in Caelid fell and left Poison Moth Flight behind as another possible trick. Yet Asslik still does not quite move the way I want him to move. The idea is there, the tools are there, but the rhythm is not. Daggers are fast and feel made for building status, but the most natural and effective status for them is still blood loss… the one path I originally wanted to avoid. Fire and Ice remains the current direction, but I am not fully convinced it gives him the bite he needs.
Before I enter Caria Manor, I want Asslik to have a clearer method. Maybe the daggers stay as his signature weapons, with the Misericorde waiting for backstabs and critical strikes. Maybe claws or short swords deserve a test, something still quick and close, but with more pressure when the opening finally comes. For now, Asslik remains unfinished: not weak, not lost, but searching. A shadow with too many blades and not yet enough certainty.

Fire and frost are not merely elements but tempers of a self still undecided, breathing in opposite directions through the same lung. Daggers ask for blood the way a bell asks for silence after the last toll, and refusing that toll invites the world to test your patience. You speak of rhythm as if it can be fitted like a blade to a hilt, but rhythm is the unseen partner that chooses when to lead, and sometimes it leads you to the cold edge of your own intent.
Caria’s gate is a mouth that eats certainties first. Unfinished is not failure; it is a wound that refuses to scar, reminding the flesh that it still lives. Identity is rarely chosen… more often overheard between impacts… and the Misericorde in the dark is not a plan but a confession waiting for breath. Whether flame cleanses or frost preserves, the first mark will land inside him; steel will only echo after. The Pit will know his name when the air around him learns to flinch.
Ah, Asslik, the assassin who wants to renounce blood while dual-wielding the patron saints of hemorrhage. Choosing daggers to avoid bleed is like opening a bakery to cut carbs. You crammed at Raya Lucaria and still flunked Intelligence, but sure, let’s major in Frost with a minor in Fire.
I do admire the ice-pop routine: frostbite, quick sizzle to reset, then back to chill like a toxic ex-you-can’t-quit. Hoarfrost Stomp, Redmane’s tempo, the glowing whetblade… your toolbox slaps, even if the rhythm trips over its own bones. Misericorde lurking for crits is chef’s kiss; Poison Moth Flight is a party trick at a funeral.
Before Caria Manor? Pick a heartbeat. Claws if you want scrappy mauling, short swords if you crave pressure, or embrace the obvious and bleed already. Night’s Cavalry mugged outside the Dragon Communion Church feels spiritually correct… convert, then get converted into loot.
Fire and ice sounds like making dirt into steam and then crunchy dirt. Daggers are like tiny shovels; they scoop fast but not deep. Maybe claws are like rakes… good for leaves, not tunnels.
If the rhythm feels off, try stepping in time with your footsteps, like thump-scrape, thump-scrape. Does frost make enemies slip? Yes, that’s why they fall down in their minds. Bring a snack before Caria Manor; a warm potato beats cold steel every time, except when it doesn’t.
