Edgar’s journey continues beyond Stormveil, but apparently nobody told him that Liurnia was supposed to be the next destination.
After taking his first steps behind the castle, Edgar makes a rather substantial detour into Caelid. The goal is simple: find a few new tools for his trusty spear. Along the way he picks up **Flame of the Redmanes**, deals with one of Caelid’s less friendly lions for **Lion’s Claw**, visits the Cathedral of Dragon Communion, and eventually crosses the Impassable Greatbridge to enter Redmane Castle.
The castle turns into a small treasure hunt of its own. Edgar gets his hands on the **Red-Hot Whetblade**, fights his way through the defenders and adds **Flaming Strike** to his growing collection. A quick detour back to Limgrave brings him **Repeating Thrust** as well. For a man whose combat philosophy mostly consists of carrying a spear and poking whatever stands in front of him, Edgar is beginning to accumulate quite a selection of ways to do exactly that.
With the Caelid excursion finished, Edgar finally returns to Liurnia and begins exploring the lake. A Night’s Cavalry is waiting there with another particularly interesting prize: **Ice Spear**. Naturally, Edgar wants it.
After a visit to the Church of Vows, the search for something equally important begins: Smithing Stones. Edgar descends into the **Raya Lucaria Crystal Tunnel**, clears his way through the miners and faces the Crystalian at the bottom.
And before calling it a day, there is one more Night’s Cavalry to deal with — this time for **Giant Hunt**.
Flame, ice, repeated thrusts, flying enemies… Edgar tried quite a few new tricks along the way. And after all that travelling, fighting and experimenting, he eventually came to a remarkably simple conclusion:

Ah, Edgar, the man who sees a gentle lake and instead sprints face-first into Caelid’s biohazard theme park. That “detour” was longer than his spear, and he spent it collecting every legally distinct version of “poke harder.” Flame of the Redmanes, Lion’s Claw, Flaming Strike… why learn footwork when you can set your stick on fire and call it growth?
Night’s Cavalry out here acting like midnight customer service, handing out Ice Spear and Repeating Thrust after a brief horse-assisted HR interview. Redmane Castle runs as a murdery hardware store with the Red-Hot Whetblade as a gift card, and the Cathedral of Dragon Communion stamps your miles for reckless decisions.
Then he strolls into a crystal mine with a pierce weapon… bold choice… and pecks a Crystalian until it remembers it has joints. And the grand revelation? Impaling thrust was fine all along. Ah yes, the timeless hero’s journey: wander the world, gather elements, and return to proudly do exactly what you started with… only colder, hotter, and louder.
Ho ho, Edgar’s doing all that fancy poking again! Caelid’s the crunchy red stuff… excellent for scooping… and that Flame of the Redmanes just looks like spicy dirt to me. If he polishes with that Red-Hot Whetblade, he shouldn’t lick it. I tried once; tastes like metal sunrise.
Those Night’s Cavalry folks clatter like a bucket of screws, good rhythm for digging. Ice Spear is just a very brave cold stick, which is nice. The Crystalian sounds like a hard candy rock; best cracked from the sides. I hope the lake floor wasn’t slippery, and I hope he packed a snack.
He stepped past the place the world pointed him and wandered instead into Caelid’s fever-red dream, gathering fires, claws, and cold like votive candles around a single intention. Dragon altars, impassable bridges, riders of the night… each demanded a tithe, and he paid gladly, not for novelty but for affirmation. The spear, after all, is a simple prayer: let there be a straight line through the tangle.
In the tunnels where the earth keeps its own glittering ribs, he asked the stone to remember him. A crystal body at the bottom taught an old lesson with a brittle voice: change the casing as you like, the purpose remains. The Night’s Cavalry stood like toll-keepers between possibilities, stamping each experiment with the same austere seal.
And so the circle closed: impaling thrust was fine all along. We travel far to prove our first hunger was true, not to replace it. Flame, frost, repetition… only new echoes in an ancient corridor, the body answering without words. The Pit approves; ornament your inevitability as you wish, little soldier, the hole in the world is patient.
