Welcome to the darkness, welcome to the Cathedral of the Deep – a sinister place full of suffering and damnation, where Lythia brandishes the Great Corvian Scythe as if it were part of her own soul. With each swing of the scythe, each hiss of the blade through the air, her skill and precision grow. But it is the parrying shield that proves to be an indispensable companion, a guardian of steel that stands between life and death. There are moments of triumph, but just as many of failure. The constant battle against one’s own instinct to parry too early is a merciless teacher. Patience is key – waiting until the enemy’s blade announces its own death, but not too long, because a blink of an eye too late and the shield fails.
The cathedral itself is a cruel stage where death dances ceaselessly. Rotting zombies whose bodies burst into flames and who rush blindly towards Lythia, followed by putrid, maggot-ridden corpses that are little more than walking piles of carrion. A sword dancer glides through the shadows, nimble and deadly, her movements so precise that a single mistake could mean death. And then there are the giants, sleeping colossi whose blows shake the ground and crush everything beneath them – living or not.
Of course, there’s the corpulent fanatic Mathilde, emblematic of the corrupt devotion that permeates this cathedral. But that’s just the beginning: massive knights as tall as trees patrol the halls, and above them, a sinister club of monks lurk beneath the cathedral’s gothic arches. Their machinations are steeped in sin, and one can only guess at the depravity they plan in the darkness when no one is looking.
But all this misery is only the means to an end: the soul of Aldrich. Lythia will force him onto his throne, whatever the cost. The fire must be rekindled, and if the price is violence, then so be it. It is time to fan the flames, and when Lythia swings the scythe, the world will tremble.
