After the short excursion to Siofra River, it is time to devote myself to my main task. Lady Ranni wants revenge on Two Finger’s henchmen. I work my way deeper into the bowels of Ainsel and explore the underground of the city of Nokstella with hammer and brain. After almost endless tunnels with all kinds of deadly vermin, I met an assassin of the Two Fingers.
He looked very much like Blaidd and yet he was not. I never liked magic and I never understood it. It was a tough fight and the assassin put up a good fight. But after I found his weak point it was not so difficult to overpower him. I think the inside of his skull is flowing down the Ainsel River somewhere right now, if something hasn’t eaten him already.
After the fight I took a break and went even deeper. Lady Ranni said that everything is done now, but I learned early on in the army that thoroughness is one of the pillars of success.
No sooner had I reached the bottom than a nasty stench opened up, it was almost unbearable. After reaching the shore of a lake that was not filled with water, I took the path towards the cloister. I found all kinds of useful things along the way, but some things were not given to me voluntarily.
Down in front of the cloister were those strange creatures again, they look like shrims who have learned to walk. They were praying into the void…
Maybe they see things I can’t see? I didn’t have time to waste thinking, I just wanted to escape the rot. I did escape it, but there were worse things down here than this rot – Astel.
