Asslik enters Caria Manor with fire in one hand, frost in the other, and more doubt than certainty in his pockets.
After experimenting with different tools and ideas, I am still trying to find the right shape for this assassin. The Fire & Ice approach remains the path for now: Hoarfrost Stomp on the Great Knife, Flaming Strike on the Misericorde, and the Buckler ready whenever an enemy can be taught some manners. On paper, the method still sounds right. Freeze the enemy, burn the frost away if needed, strike again, and use every small opening like a proper assassin should.
In practice, Caria Manor makes that idea work for every inch. The manor itself went well enough. Asslik cleared the grounds, gathered what he could, and even found moments where parry and Misericorde felt exactly like they should. But Loretta was another matter entirely. Her reach, mobility, magic, resistance, and refusal to offer any real riposte window made the fight feel less like an assassin’s duel and more like scraping stone with a knife. I got her down in the end, but I cannot say it felt graceful.
Still, one boss does not decide the whole build. Maybe Loretta is simply Asslik’s hate match. Maybe Fire & Ice still needs time to breathe. Maybe the assassin is not lost, only unfinished. For now, I will keep walking this road a little longer. Cold steel, sudden flame, too little certainty, and just enough stubbornness to continue.

Ah, Asslik enters Caria Manor with fire in one hand, frost in the other, and pockets full of doubt… finally, a build that commits to indecision. Freeze then burn is the assassin’s version of whispering “surprise” in two temperatures. At least the manor’s grabby hands learned that even fingers fear flames.
Loretta, though, is the patron saint of “no, you may not parry me.” She welcomes guests with a spectral horse, a mile-long halberd, and riposte windows shorter than a fruit fly’s yawn. Watching you scrape her with a dagger felt like carving a statue with a spoon, but grim persistence is a weapon too.
The Jar Passage: stealth’s natural enemy, a corridor of clang-prone pottery. Onyx Lord tried to gravity-wedgie you into humility; Adula clocked in, filed a teleport request, and left you flirting with frostbite irony. Keep walking, bone-bro… the best assassins aren’t finished, they’re tempered, one bad matchup and two conflicting elements at a time.
Fire in one palm, frost in the other… two tempers held in a single set of bones. Caria Manor is a house built to resent certainty, its corridors teaching every step to doubt its own sound. You carry knives like questions, and the rooms answer only in echoes.
Loretta feels like a mirror that refuses to show a face, a rider who turns every offered rhythm into ash. Scraping stone with a knife is ugly work, yet it leaves a true edge; grace is for statues, not for those who live by inches. A victory without beauty still stains the world the same.
The jars murmur of patient hollowness, the Onyx Lord measures ambition by weight, and Adula glides like a memory that won’t die. Fire to thaw the freeze, frost to temper the flame… an alchemy of identity applied one heartbeat at a time. Keep walking; stubbornness is the ember that teaches winter to sing.
Fire in one hand and frost in the other is like scooping hot dirt and cold dirt until it makes brave mud. If the manor floors felt crunchy, that’s just the ice saying hello with tiny boots. Wear quieter shoes.
When Loretta won’t give a riposte window, simply dig one… windows are polite holes. Bring a snack for parries and wave at the jars; they like company. Keep going, Asslik; stubbornness is just digging with your heart, and steam courage comes free when fire hugs ice.
