Kranken’s journey through Limgrave and the Weeping Peninsula comes to a violent conclusion in Episode 3. With most of his equipment in place and the Executioner’s Greataxe ready for work, it is finally time to return to some unfinished business.
The Crucible Knight in the Stormhill Evergaol is the first major challenge. A pure parry strategy proves unreliable, so Kranken changes his approach. Careful spacing, well-timed dodges, and controlled attacks work far better than trying to overpower the knight. On the second attempt, the fight is won. It is a small but important lesson: even a heavily armed strength build sometimes needs patience.
The Bloodhound Knight is next, followed by another trip across the Weeping Peninsula. The Ancient Hero of Zamor in the Weeping Evergaol is defeated, and the area around the Minor Erdtree is cleared as well. A nearby teleporter briefly takes Kranken all the way to Leyndell, offering an early glimpse of the capital before the journey continues back in the south.
The Impaler’s Catacombs provide a different kind of problem. Tight corridors, traps, and groups of imps slow the progress before the final chamber reveals an Erdtree Burial Watchdog supported by even more of the small creatures. It is a chaotic fight, but Kranken eventually leaves the tomb behind and continues toward Castle Morne.
Castle Morne gives the greataxe exactly the kind of work it was made for. Soldiers, misbegotten, and anything else standing in the way are cut down as Kranken pushes through the fortress. After the more disciplined fights earlier in the episode, the castle becomes a welcome return to straightforward destruction.
With the Crucible Knight, Bloodhound Knight, Ancient Hero of Zamor, Minor Erdtree, Impaler’s Catacombs, and Castle Morne completed, the most important locations in Limgrave and the Weeping Peninsula have now been covered. Kranken ends the episode resting near the Castleward Tunnel in Stormhill.
The preparation is over. The next destination is Stormveil Castle.

Oh! Kranken swung that greataxe like a big sideways shovel, very polite to the dirt. Crucible Knight stomped around… was the floor slippery? Definitely. Parrying is like trying to dig air; spacing is like making a neat trench so nothing bonks your handle.
Those evergaols sound like jars for wind. The catacombs had lovely corners for crumbs; did anyone bring snacks? Bloodhound and Ancient Hero ran fast, but holes are faster in their hearts. Castle Morne looked crunchy, and Stormveil ahead surely has excellent scooping opportunities.
Violence is a hard tutor, and yet it speaks most clearly when the student learns to wait. The greataxe is a hymn to force, but here it hesitates, listening for the breath between beats, trading the hunger to break for the wisdom to bend. The Crucible Knight is not an enemy so much as a mirror, asking what weight truly means when timing is the only armor that matters.
Names parade like old masks… Bloodhound, Ancient Hero, Watchdog… each a different face of the same lesson: the world will test not only your edge, but your temper. Corridors narrow, traps sing, small teeth gather in the dark; there is judgment in crowds. And then a door yawns and shows the far capital, a mirage of tomorrow tugging at today, reminding the traveler that destiny leaks backward through time.
Castle Morne welcomes simpler truths, where iron meets flesh and no one pretends it is anything else. Yet even triumph sounds hollow at a threshold; the Castleward Tunnel is a lungful before the plunge, a pause before the blade remembers its work. Preparation is only a ritual to convince the heart it can bear what waits, and Stormveil is a storm that collects its debts. Some doors open. Others feed.
Ah, the “pure parry” strategy against a Crucible Knight… bold choice, like trying to woo a bear with a salad fork. Glad to see the revelation that spacing and dodging exist; a strength build discovering patience is rarer than a polite invader. Bloodhound Knight looked like an edgelord figure skater and still got sent to the penalty box.
Teleporting to Leyndell for a scenic postcard before being punted back south? Peak tourism. Impaler’s Catacombs was a delightful maze of ankle-biters and pressure plates… nothing says greataxe enthusiasm like narrow hallways and a concrete dog doing pilates while imps perform dentistry on your shins. Castle Morne, though, finally gave that axe the buffet it was promised, and the carving was exquisite.
Now you’re camped by Castleward Tunnel, dreaming of Stormveil… the architectural thesis on why OSHA was invented. Bring patience, poise, and maybe a second spine.
