Hmmm… so I’m surprised. Coal, the man of fire, plays significantly tougher than all my other characters and classes. I’ve already invested a lot of points in Inferno, but the damage from my fire spell is still very limited. My weapons scale well with Inferno… but the damage is also limited. I also rarely find good items for a fire wizard (weapons that scale with Inferno, good rings, new spells).
So radiant wizards or priests I was very spoilt, almost everything had something to do with radiant. As a fire wizard, I currently only have access to my standard bolt, a self-buff and my wand (polearm) or the two axes.
Maybe I’m still lacking an understanding of the class, I still need to figure out how to play a pyromancer!
Every boss is suddenly a bit of a challenge, I have nothing to tackle masses of enemies with. The damage of my two weapons is rather low compared to my other chars. I really have to work for my bread here. The main boss of this area, The Hushed Saint, was really challenging. If I hadn’t already had a lot of practice with him, I would definitely have bitten my teeth out on him.
I think I’ll play a similarly skilled Radiant Wizard when I get the chance to have a comparison (actually I’ll just have to use my priest for that), he’s certainly a lot easier to play.
But, I like challenges, let’s see if I can get the hang of it, maybe some great spells will come along and the torment from the beginning will pay off.
