07 – Lower Calrath

Location: Lower Calrath
Bosses: Infernal Enchantress, Spurned Progeny
Weapons: Axe of the Flayed, Bloodlust

A pyromaniac as a guest in a burning city. There’s not much to do here, so to speak… At least I don’t scare anyone here with fire. Everything also breathes fire and is highly resistant to it. Right at the start is the first boss, Infernal Enchantress, which I find very difficult to deal with using fire. But then I remembered that I often pick up a ring to be able to use the spell of another school of magic. So, what are all these fire enthusiasts particularly reactive to? Holy… I already have the ring. Even if I can only use light spells from that school, that’s enough to make them react with increased damage. You have to be a bit flexible in this undead world.

Let’s move on to the location… I don’t like this town. The design is really done with a lot of love, kudos to the designers and developers. But they also went to a lot of trouble with ambushes and multiple enemies. There’s always something crawling out of the wall somewhere. Rooms that you thought were clean are suddenly covered in burning corpses again.
But even here you have to praise Hexworks for doing a good job. Unfortunately not my style at all, I prefer duels with heavy opponents to acrobatic running, jumping and dodging manoeuvres. Then you want to have a duel with a heavy opponent, and suddenly a burning zombie appears from behind or some guy fires fireballs from a crevice.

Hey, but Coal, that’s the name of my Pyromancer, did it. I’m slowly getting used to his outfit, even if I’m still looking for alternative fashion, I’m not quite satisfied yet. I’m also still waiting for a weapon that puts a gleam in my eye, at the moment it’s all just useful, but nothing that excites me.
