Genessa had no intention of rushing toward the end. Not yet. So before committing to the final road, I returned to the Sesters’ side of Mammon and discovered that one Corrupted Gate had somehow escaped my attention. Behind it waited the Conquered Temple, a frozen land of snow, ruined sanctuaries and bitter air. After so much swamp, rot and bone, the cold felt almost clean. Almost.
The gate itself was mercifully straightforward, but the deeper I went, the more the place began to bite back. Frost Soldiers, Ballista Heads, Grisha Hunters and creatures hiding beneath the snow turned every stretch of ground into a reminder that normal enemies are still perfectly capable of killing me in more embarrassing ways than most bosses. The Frost buildup was especially pleasant. Nothing says “ancient sacred ruin” quite like being frozen in place while several people take turns hitting you.
Still, the Conquered Temple was beautiful. Winterglass Lake, broken bridges, enormous stone limbs, frozen cemeteries and strange monumental halls gave the whole region a very different character from the rest of Mammon. Even the puzzles felt fitting, with bells, moving stone arms and hidden paths breaking up the fighting. For once, I was in no hurry. Eventually the road led upward to Droeg, the Conquerer. He was considerably less relaxing.
A massive warrior of frost and steel, Droeg hit hard enough to make mistakes very expensive, and his ranged skull attacks made distance only slightly safer than standing directly in front of him. It took five attempts before the rhythm finally settled. Five is acceptable. Anything below ten can still be described as dignity.
When Droeg finally fell, he left behind the Conqueror’s Reward, a Tarstone that allows the Black Needle to unleash a powerful forward assault. Impressive. Dramatic. Expensive in Focus. In other words, probably designed for a spear fighter who is not Genessa. After leaving the temple, I spent some time near the entrance to Mammon simply testing the Doubles again. They still occasionally run past enemies with the confidence of warriors who have urgent business elsewhere, but when they behave, the build is frighteningly strong now. The Conquered Temple is cleared. Another gate is silent. Another path behind us.

Ooo, a temple conquered by cold! Snow is just shy dirt wearing a blanket, so I hope Genessa brought mittens. Frost bites worse than a dull spade, and frozen floors make even brave boots do the wobbles. I’d have packed a hot potato.
That Droeg fellow sounds like a very tall icicle with opinions; flying skulls are just rude snowballs. Bells and moving stone arms are good… means the ground is listening. Conqueror’s Reward sounds shiny; I hope it digs forward, even if it costs a lot of focus. Another silent gate feels like filling a hole, nice and tidy.
The Temple of the conquered, frost like bleach, cleansing rot; cold nearly holy yet bites back. The pit whispers that ordinary teeth do most of the chewing; grandeur only crowns the feast. Bells that wake stone arms, paths under snow; devotion persists as geometry when faith is gone. Moving through it slowly is a refusal to be hurried into another’s ending.
Droeg stands like a verdict; rhythm bought in shards; five failures as a tithe paid with breath. When a conqueror falls and leaves a reward ill-fitted to the hand that took it, that is the old joke of fate: the prize names you, and you say I am someone else. The Doubles racing past prey are echoes remembering a different road, proof that strength is not the same as aim. Another gate falls quiet, and in the quiet you can hear it… that the world keeps offering thresholds, hoping one day you will choose to stop conquering and listen.
Ah yes, the Conquered Temple: where the air is crisp, the architecture is tragic, and the hospitality policy is “freeze first, ask questions never.” Nothing like becoming a tasteful ice sculpture while Frost Soldiers take turns critiquing your posture. Bells chiming, stone arms wobbling… felt like a sanctified gym class staffed by vengeful saints.
Droeg, meanwhile, shows up like a walking avalanche with a skull-mail subscription service. Five attempts? In Gloomgrave we call that a brisk hello. Dignity intact, pride moderately chilled, bones thoroughly impressed. Shame about the Conqueror’s Reward being tailor-made for a spear-swashbuckler you are absolutely not… like winning a gourmet steak when you chew on gravel.
And bless those Doubles, sprinting past enemies with the conviction of couriers who forgot the package. When they do remember to stab, though, the whole world briefly agrees you’re a genius. Temple conquered, irony preserved.
