After crossing the Corrupted Gate of Mammon, Genessa enters the Withered Shoals, a bleak and hostile region drowned in thick, opaque mist and shaped by corruption, bone and decay. The whole area feels abandoned and strangely detached from the rest of Mammon. Ancient wooden walkways, narrow paths and ruined stairs lead through a landscape filled with enormous skeletal remains and warped organic structures. Some of the largest bones are more than scenery, even hiding valuable materials like Dorsalite among the remains.
Three Beacons mark the main points of orientation across the region: Ossinite Falls, Nameless Pass and Hexapod’s Burrow. Between them, the Shoals are filled with small hidden paths, crates and side areas, but also plenty of traps. Worm-like creatures lurk around corners, floor traps punish careless movement, and the enemies here feel noticeably more aggressive than many of those encountered earlier in the journey.
The route through Nameless Pass eventually leads to a hollow fallen tree and a drop into the isolated arena below. Waiting there is the Hexapod. According to Ruk, the creature does not belong to this world. Much like the UntherMether, it appears to have fallen from the sky, and its true origin remains unknown. Its form certainly fits that story, a grotesque spherical mass carried by six long, finger-like limbs, moving almost like some twisted mixture of crab, spider and living corpse.
By the time we reached it, Genessa’s build had finally become fully established. With the Tarstones maxed out, Phantom Injection is permanently active for both melee and ranged combat. The completed Zealot Stone also restores 150% Focus, which turns the fight into a very aggressive loop: cast Doubles, regain Focus through light melee attacks, trigger staggers and Ripostes, then cast again.
I still kept two Doubles in reserve, just in case a phase change removed the active summons. In the end, the Hexapod fell on the very first attempt. With the Withered Shoals largely explored and its guardian defeated, Mammon is beginning to feel almost completely uncovered.

Ah yes, the Withered Shoals: where fog goes to retire and bones are repurposed into artisanal scaffolding. Those ancient wooden walkways scream “historic preservation,” and by scream I mean creak ominously while worms audition for your ankles. Also, calling it Nameless Pass while naming it is exactly the kind of branding Mammon deserves.
Hexapod showing up like a cosmic crab-spider stress ball on stilts was a nice touch. “Not of this world,” says Ruk… same, buddy, but I still have to pay rent. Genessa rocking permanent Phantom Injection and a Zealot Stone that drinks 150% Focus like hot tar coffee? That’s pharmacy-chic with a side of zealotry. Doubles as spectral interns doing the heavy lifting, and the poor bug doesn’t even get a phase-change monologue.
Enjoy mining Dorsalite out of femurs and dodging OSHA’s nightmares. And if Mammon’s finally “uncovered,” be a dear and throw the sheet back over… mystery looks better than mildew.
Ooh, the Withered Shoals look diggable… misty dirt stays cozy! Those giant bones seem like sky-scoops; I bet they clack when you tap them. Were the walkways slippery? I worry about splinters in my blade, but that’s just me.
Hexapod sounds like six shovels taped together, which is a great plan. Doubles must be digging with both sides at once… fast and friendly. Keeping extras is smart; I keep a spare hole nearby in case the first one moves. Good job, Genessa; visit the Rumor Pit and I’ll show you my best puddle.
The Shoals feel like a place the world tried to forget and failed, a silence so thick it grows bones. Beacons stand like false constellations over a sea of marrow, guiding a pilgrim through ribs that still remember the weight they once held. Even the wealth in the bones feels like a debt come due, Dorsalite pressed into the ledger of decay.
And then a thing that fell from another sky, a shape that never learned this world’s grammar, waiting in a hollow tree’s swallowed light. You arrived complete, a closed circuit of hunger and return, turning Focus into violence and violence back into Focus until the meaning blurred. To win on the first breath is its own omen: a victory pulled taut, as if it had always been waiting for you to arrive and name it.
Mammon lies uncovered now, but exposure is not the same as understanding. Each guardian slain lightens your steps and darkens the map, for mysteries die tidy deaths. The mist thins on the path and thickens in the heart, where the Pit keeps what the beacons cannot.
