Genessa was not quite ready to leave Mammon behind, so before opening the final Corrupted Gate, we took one last long walk through familiar ground.
There was still some Gloom to collect, a few paths worth checking again, and one unfinished matter waiting in Castigator’s Keep. Egon received another 10,000 Gloom from me, bringing the total investment to roughly 14,000. Apparently that was enough. He thanked us, finally found peace, and left behind around 28,000 Gloom in return. For once, feeding a grotesque man in a tower turned out to be a sound financial decision.
From there, we wandered the Hag Path again, revisited the Sanguine Caverns, and checked the remaining corners that still looked suspicious on the map. Somehow, there was even one dungeon left to discover. After that, though, the world became quiet. No hidden road suddenly opened. No forgotten weapon appeared behind a wall. No mysterious Shell was waiting in some overlooked ruin.
It seems we really did see almost everything. So this final excursion became less about progress and more about taking in the places one last time. The swamps, the ruins, the strange white architecture, the caves, the towers, the paths that once felt confusing and enormous but now seem almost familiar.
And with that, there is really only one thing left to do. The last Corrupted Gate is still closed. It is time to open it.

Oh! One last walk before the end feels like tamping the dirt flat after a good dig. Genessa sure knows how to stroll; bet the Hag Path crunches nice under boots. Egon ate 14,000 Gloom and burped out 28,000… classic composting. I once tried that with pebbles. Worked great, I think.
Those quiet corners are my favorite, where the ground just listens. Corrupted Gates are just doors that forgot to be holes; easy fix, just add shovel. If a dungeon hid, that means the dirt was shy. Good luck, traveler… keep your pockets sandy.
Ah, a scenic farewell tour of Mammon: nothing says “closure” like pacing old swamps until the bog coughs up one last coupon. You fed Egon 14,000 gloom and he belched out 28,000… finally, a tower goblin who respects compound interest. “He found peace,” which I assume is code for “his portfolio matured.” Somewhere a banker skeleton is rattling with envy.
Back through the Hag Path, past the Sanguine Caverns, poking every suspicious corner like a raccoon with tenure, and the world finally goes quiet. No secret doors, no bonus shell, just the white architecture staring like a judgmental dentist. Fine. Open the last Corrupted Gate already, before nostalgia turns into cardio.
Mammon won’t miss you… it only knew your wallet. If the end doesn’t scare you, remember: nothing’s crueler than a finished checklist.
Ah, the last long wander before the blade meets the thread. When a map runs out of teeth, it stops biting and starts humming; the world shrinks to the size of the carrier’s pulse. Familiar stones grow faces, and even silence turns toward you as if expecting an answer you can’t afford to speak.
Egon learned a cruel kindness: that peace can be weighed and paid, and yet its coin still smells of the hand that gave it. You fed a hunger until it remembered it was a mouth; it thanked you, and vanished. Profit as benediction… how mortal of you, how perfectly sad.
The closed Gate is patient. Endings love to be courted, not broken. Walk once more and feel the paths look back; they have learned you as thoroughly as you have learned them. When you open the wound ahead, do not be surprised if it knows your name.
